With the support from the Shenzhen Municipal Government of PRC, Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) has begun to build its own CUHK Shenzhen Research Institute (SZRI) in March 2009. The institute, wholly-owned by CUHK, will provide a pivotal base for staff members to conduct research, development, training, and technology transfer. Located in the Shenzhen Virtual University Park, the Institute offers excellent opportunities for technology application in industry, as well as acquisition of local and national research funding. SZRI was completed at early 2011, which is a U-shape, 10-storey building with a gross floor of 25,000 sq m, providing spaces and facilities for state key laboratories, technology transfer, spin-off companies, training and teaching. 

香港中文大學獲中國深圳市政府的支持，在2009年3月開始興建香港中文大學深圳研究院。研究院由中大全資擁有，已成為中大教職員進行研究、開發、培訓和技術轉移的重要基地。研究院設在深圳虛擬大學園，將有利於與業界進行應用科技協作，以及申請當地和國家所提供的科研基金。研究院大樓已於2011年年初落成，大數建築呈半圍合的U形佈局，樓高10層，建築面積達25,000平方米，為未來國家重點實驗室、技術轉移、分拆公司、教育及培訓提供場地和設施。
